The Permitting Council reviews every payment for accuracy prior to sending to GSA our shared service provider for processing. Our certifying official manually reviews every payment external to the government for accuracy, assures funds are available for payment and payment will be made from the proper account. A transmittal is prepared to relay all pertinent information to GSA assuring they process the payment in the manner the agency has directed. For payments internal to the Government via Intra-governmental Payments and Collections (IPAC), GSA sends the IPACs received on our behalf and the Permitting Council manually reviews the IPAC for accuracy, assures funds are available for payment and notifies GSA to book payment to the proper accounts based on Treasury Accounting Symbol (TAS) and Business Event Type Code (BETC).
