Merit Systems Protection Board
MSPB is compliant with the Payment Integrity Information Act of 2019 and does not have any improper payments to report for this period. The Department of Treasury Bureau of Fiscal Services (BFS) provides MSPB with accounting and financial support. MSPB not only adheres to BFS’ business practices; throughout the reporting period we conduct our own internal risk assessments on a periodic basis, to ensure there are no additional or unknown weaknesses in our internal controls.

Please note: Overpayment amounts recovered are reported in the year they were recovered, not the year they were identified. Therefore it is possible in some years to have a recovery rate greater than 100%.
Conditions giving rise to improper payments identified in recovery audits, how those conditions are being resolved, and the methods used to recover those payments
In addition to MSPB internal controls, the Bureau of Fiscal Services engages in audits of MSPB's financial transactions to identify potential improper payments. There is an audit of travel vouchers and invoice payments. Transactions are randomly selected within the reporting period and reviewed to ensure procedural and payment accuracy.
